This woman's story has always had a hold on me. She was the mother of the famous, Quanah Parker, last Comanche chief. To me it's a love story, the way she refused to return to her white people because she loved her Comanche husband and family, and how her husband, Peta Nocona, never took any other wife besides her, even after she was taken from him. She died of a broken heart.
