Hello everyone! As some of you know, a couple years ago I walked almost forty miles in New York City and raised $2,800 for breast cancer research with the Avon Walk campaign. Last year I took a break from such lofty goals and walked a 5K for Human Race in Mountain View, California. As you can probably guess where this is going, it's that time of year again, and I've stepped up the challenge…
Believe it or not, I have decided to train to run a marathon! I've joined Team In Training, benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, to pursue this goal. Hopefully, with your help, on December 10, 2006 I will run 26.2 miles in Honolulu, Hawaii!
Why Team In Training? The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training is the world's largest and most comprehensive endurance training program. That means everyday people, like me, can become an edurance athelete! But more than that, their goal is to help find a cure for blood cancers like leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma.
So, I'm sure by now you are anxious to help! *wink wink* My goal is to raise $3,700 and I have until September 1st to do it! Each donation is important, no matter what the amount, and of course, it is tax-deductible.
But, to provide a little incentive...
If you donate $50... A lineart drawing of your choice by yours truly.
If you donate $75... I will color the drawing via photoshop.
If you donate $100 or more.... I will color and add a background to make a complete picture
What if you are too young to make a donation? Get your parents to make a donation in your name! I'll still do the artwork for you if they meet the minimum.
Checks need to be made out to "The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society" and sent directly to me by September 1st to qualify. (email me for my address). You may also donate via credit card using my very own webpage!
www.active.com/donate/tntsvmb/… Feel free to visit my page often for updates on my progress!
Also, if you make a donation, send me a note with your full name or the name of the donor, so I match donations with screen names!
Thank you so much for your support!
Note: I will GLADLY accept donations after September 1st. And remember, your contribution is 100% tax deductible. The Society will send you a receipt.
